Amberley is situated 35 minutes drive north of Christchurch and Christchurch Airport on State Highway 1. It is also at the intersection of State Highway 71 which takes you on the Inland Scenic Route through the middle of the South Island.

Amberley is the southern gateway to the Alpine Pacific Triangle with Hanmer Springs 55 minutes and Kaikoura 1 hour 55 minutes drive.

Delhaven Motels is 10 minutes drive to Waipara Valley Wineries where you can enjoy excellent wine and food. The Amberley Beach is 5 minutes drive, where the 18 hole golf course is located.

Award winning restaurant and other dining establishments are within an easy walk as with traditional country pubs. There is a variety of walks in the area from easy flat river or wetland to challenging mountain hikes.
